After finding herself unexpectedly pregnant, Adeline was conflicted when she turned to Planned Parenthood for a safe and legal abortion. There, she found compassionate care and was given the time and space to think about her pregnancy options. She ended up continuing the pregnancy—resulting in the birth of her beloved son. Devery is a resident physician and intern at the Alaska Family Medicine Residency, which is the only residency in the state of Alaska. She works in one of two federally qualified health centers in Anchorage that accepts Medicaid and says the clinic is "bursting at the seams” and that “being able to refer those people to Planned Parenthood and know that they will also be taken care of there is a huge resource.”

The Abortion Pill

The abortion pill is a medicine called mifepristone that ends an early pregnancy.In general, it's used up to 70 days — 10 weeks — after the first day of a woman's last period. Patients over this mark can have an in-clinic abortion procedure.
