A Planned Parenthood doctor diagnosed Becky's cervical cancer during a routine checkup for birth control. "It was really scary. I felt kind of alone and lost. But they were very compassionate about telling me about my diagnosis.They made me feel relaxed and also valued." This is Becky's story of care. #WeArePP Transcript: I grew up in a small town in North Dakota. My mother was pregnant when she graduated from high school with me. It was very important to me that that not happen to me. I knew I had to to find a way to get on birth control. that’s when I started using Planned Parenthood. About my second year going there, they found that I can cervical cancer. It was really scary. I felt kind of alone and lost. But they were very compassionate about telling me about my diagnosis. They made me feel relaxed and also valued. If I hadn’t gone to Planned Parenthood, I could have died from cervical cancer. Without Planned Parenthood, I really don’t think I’d be where I am today. I’m proud to be the first person in my family to graduate from college, proud that I followed my dreams, and I feel like I’ve achieved everything I set out for.
