GFX: Dr. Devery Mitchell | Resident Physician Devery: I knew I wanted to practice rural medicine and all of those things came to a head when I found the program here in Alaska. I don’t work for Planned Parenthood. I work in 1 of 2 Federally Qualified Health Centers in Anchorage that accepts Medicaid. Our clinic is bursting at the seams. We are always full and we go through periods of time where we are actually so full we can’t accept new patients. Being able to refer those people to Planned Parenthood and know that they will also be taken care of there is a huge resource. Without Planned Parenthood, these patients would have nowhere else to go. If you could see what I see, if you could see the amount of need in this state, you would think twice before trying to take it away. I’m an Alaskan doctor and I stand with Planned Parenthood.more
